5 things you need to know about cannabis and Covid-19

In this uncertain time the best thing you can do is keep yourself well, both physically and mentally. Here’s a quick list of things you can do to stay healthy and safe.

1. DON'T SHARE

One way Covid-19 is spread is through bodily fluids like saliva. One easy way to avoid getting sick is to not share anything that goes in or around your mouth and hands. This includes joints, pipes, bongs and vaporizers. If you do share, use alcohol wipes between users.

2. SOLO SESSIONS

Unfortunately, it’s not enough to not share. Canadian medical experts are suggesting that we should physically distance ourselves at least 2m away from each other. This could be the excuse you’ve been looking for to finally buy yourself a vaporizer.

3. TAKE A BREAK

Covid-19 is associated with respiratory problems, if you have or suspect you may have it take a break from inhaling cannabis. You risk making your symptoms worse if you irritate your airway while it is already inflamed. You also risk slowing down your recovery.

4. STOCK UP

Experts recommend stocking up with a 30 day supply of cannabis to limit trips out of your home. Having some extra on hand can help ease anxiety about running out entirely. If you do run out, there are numerous delivery services available, which is a safer choice than leaving home.

5. NO CURE... YET

Although there is a lot of research being done around cures and preventative measures, scientists are still a long way away from proving that cannabis has any effect on the Covid-19 virus.
