7 Ways to Grind Weed without a Grinder

    If you have no other equipment and find yourself in a tight spot, you can roll the buds in your fingers or tear them apart. This is by far the least desirable option since your fingers will get sticky and smelly in the process, worse yet, leaving the grinds less potent.

    What makes this easy is that these are common household items. It doesn’t need to be a shot glass, any narrow glass will work. With your bud at the bottom of the glass, insert the business end of the scissors and get clipping.

    While again having the benefit of being a common household item, it should be noted that you may not want to use the grinder for coffee again without a thorough cleaning. Electric coffee grinders are great when you need to grind larger amounts, such as when baking.

    Perhaps not as common to have in your household, the traditional mortar and pestle will get the job done. Use the mortar to hold onto the bud while you press and rotate to crush and grind it with the pestle.

If for some strange reason you find yourself without any of the above, but you do happen to have a hair straightener and some parchment paper, try this. Put a bud between a folded sheet of parchment paper and squish it between the heated plates of a hair straightener. The resulting sticky goo is a solventless extract ready for use without any purging or risk of foreign substances.

This technique works best if you freeze the bud first. Place the bud and coin inside the pill bottle and seal it. Shake for a bit. Open the pill bottle and enjoy.
